Teaching
Teaching context. Throughout Dr. Declercq’s Georgia Tech career, he has maintained a sustained teaching commitment across undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching assignments have included both the Atlanta campus (several summer semesters) and Georgia Tech Europe, providing experience with the educational environments of both campuses and contributing to the continuity of Georgia Tech's academic mission in Europe. The table below lists courses taught during the six-year period requested by the College of Engineering.
Dr. Declercq’s teaching responsibilities have consistently spanned foundational undergraduate engineering courses together with specialized graduate courses closely aligned with Dr. Declercq’s research program.
Beyond classroom teaching, he has contributed to the development of Georgia Tech Europe's educational infrastructure through curriculum development, laboratory creation, student recruitment, and integration of research into graduate education.
At Georgia Tech Europe, Dr. Declercq’s lecture courses were always conducted without the support of teaching assistants. He was therefore directly responsible for all aspects of course administration, including lecture preparation, assignment and examination design, exam proctoring, grading, office hours, and individual student support. Special Problems and Undergraduate Research courses, in contrast, were conducted within Dr. Declercq’s research laboratory and benefited from the collaborative mentoring environment provided by his graduate students and postdoctoral members of the laboratory.
