Giuseppe Mariconda: “Good Afternoon Dr. Declercq, This is the season of saying thank you to the people who support us and allow us to achieve what sometimes seems impossible. I am writing you today to share all my gratitude as I am officially ***. It has been a long and windy journey. I have achieved this milestone in my life with your support and for that I am extremely grateful. I hope everything is great with you and that your life is treating you well. I keep fond memories of your classes, where technicalities came as natural explanations of fun phenomena. In spring 2021, I did an internship at ***, a nice startup that is building an *** to replace fossil fuels in the industry. In Fall 2021 I went to Atlanta, and I graduated last December! And now I'm back in France working again at ***, building a second prototype. Obviously, it has to be instrumented with ***, so I'm overall putting to good use your teachings ! Thanks again!” (Aug 17, 2022)

Wiame B.: “I have always admired your international career, teaching and methodology, your guidance and advice. And I aspire one day to become a Professor as well and inspire future generations. I all heartedly believe that you help(ed) me get a step closer to achieving my plan. After getting my master’s degree, I want to pursue my Ph.D. and go back to Morocco, as I want to be an active actor in my home country’s development. I was inspired by you, professor, and I want, in return, in the future, to inspire generations, especially young women to pursue their dreams in Academia in STEM fields.” (Dec 28, 2021)

Sailajan N.: “Hello Sir, I don’t know if you still remember me but I took your classes last semester in Fall 2020. I took ME6449 Transducers and ME6760 Acoustics. Thanks to you, I learned a lot even though the circumstances with Covid-19 were not optimal. I am just sending you this email to check if everything is fine on your side and also to thank you for the classes. I am currently in Paris doing my 6 months internship in a start-up in neuroscience called Conscious Labs. We create wearables that do electroencephalogram (EEG). So basically we create devices that mesure the human brain electrical activity. And in order to exploit and analyse these signals, we use Matlab and do some Fourier Transform ! Thanks to you, I can understand some of the brain signals. All in all, I hope everything is fine on your side and thank you for the classes. Sincerely, Sailajan”. (March 7, 2021)

Youssef I.: “I would like to thank you for the passion and dedication you thought us in the 2 classes I was registered in during my MSc. Cordially, Youssef I. “ (Dec 29, 2020)

The way you presented many aspects of acoustic and wave dynamics was really appreciated by the class. I would like to sincerly thank you for your course.” (Nov 12, 2019)

Sebastian S.: “Dear Declercq, I was one of your students in Fall 2018 for 'Signal and Transducers' and 'Waves in solids' lectures. A few days ago, I walked by a large GTL poster featuring a picture of you. Of course I am not writing to inform you that you are famous at the Career Center here in Atlanta, but I would like to thank you for making last semester such a success and a great stepping stone to Atlanta for me. I had never anticipated taking any classes in acoustics but found myself so interested in the topics you presented that I have now listed them on my resume! I really appreciate your example, guidance and teachings, and wanted to let you know they are a big part of the great memories of GTL that I will always carry with me.” (Jan 26, 2017)
