The Desclergue family of Montblanc is where the ancestors of N. F. Declercq originate from. For many years, Nico Declercq professed history and genealogy as a hobby. This resulted in a not-for-profit book, "The Desclergues of la Villa Ducal de Montblanc", at the end of 2021, about his ancestors. The book, ISBN/EAN 9789083176901, 1384 pages, can be found at the following locations:
google books, Internet Archive, Issuhub, GoodReads, Gutenberg, Scribd, Researchgate, SecureSafe, Academia.
The book's table of contents is given below... At the bottom of this page, we show what to expect in the second edition.

(page 1176) These are the panels in Spanish Baroque from 1640, which nowadays constitute the seven sorrows of Mary. The reliefs each have 13 flowers on their frame, symbolising Antoni, while the recently added (first) panel differs. One panel shows the main square of Montblanc with the house of Desclergue. Another exposes the initials of Antoni Desclergue (DC06).

X Final Contemplation
|
p. 1321
The author's privilege is to educate young and energetic students full of ideas and inspiration as a professor. As ageing begins, it is a comfort to discern that the past is passed while the future swiftly falls on the shoulders of a new generation. Being a descendant of the Desclergues from Montblanc in Catalonia, Spain, and in the context of this book, it is natural to place our hope for a better future, amid environmental and economic challenges, into the hands of a new generation represented by such talented and dynamic youngsters as the Duchess of Montblanc, the Princess of Asturias. The author sincerely offers Her Royal Highness his blessing and wishes her the best of luck in her educational endeavour and future exemplary function.

What to expect in the second edition?
|
The second edition will appear in a couple of years and will be an updated version of the first edition. The added or adjusted contents will result from further discoveries already made or yet to be made in the coming years and depend on the availability of documents and possibly other activities the author undertakes in his limited free time.
The following items have already been prepared: -approximately 50 old images have been professionally colourized. -Autosomal DNA matches are shown with two persons descending from the de Patin family through a different bloodline. -Autosomal DNA matches are shown with two persons descending from Bertrand Duguesclin's grandfather through 2 different bloodlines. -Archaeological discoveries describe and show Spanish military presence in Harelbeke in the 17th century and further strengthen those explained in the first edition. -The artwork in the chapel in Deerlijk is attributed to a school of artists active in Catalonia in the first halve of the 17th century. Help, to this end, was received from Spanish academics in art history. -In addition to the extensive DNA study already in the book, an interesting autosomal DNA-match was found with a person whose known ancestors all lived in a village not far from Montblanc in Spain, between Tarragona and Zaragoza.
More attention will also go to the blood link with: de Patin (blood related to Charles Philippe de Patin, diplomat and writer) Benoit (blood related to Peter Benoit, musician) De Croock (blood related to Tom van Flandern, astonomer) Waelkens (blood related to Marc Waelkens, historian)
